You will be in charge of negotiating rate confirmations and contracts with brokers, 3rd party logistics companies, and direct customers.

Responsibilities include the reviewing, planning, scheduling and dispatching our customers LTL / Expedite freight.

Managing up to 50 drivers and bidding on freight via email, phone, different load boards.

Successfully coordinating the timely and accurate delivery of goods by monitoring shipments throughout transit in order to effectively meet delivery schedules.

You will be in charge of directly communicating with our customers and drivers from the initial order tender, to the final delivery.

The key responsibilities of this function are to provide exceptional support to drivers, be quick to respond to questions and troubleshooting concerns and to pro-actively monitor the movement of freight to ensure customer satisfaction.

Review Information from co-workers and vendors. Throughout the day information flows from co-workers and vendors regarding service issues and capacity. These must be addressed and resolved daily.

Team members operate the dispatch hotline, answering telephones, taking and relaying messages and clearly and accurately communicating with drivers and other team members.

Heavy telephone usage. Team members are assigned a group of drivers that must be updated daily and are in direct contact with their drivers and shippers.

Monitor incoming heavy email usage. Team members must be able to organize their e-mail usage so that it doesn't overwhelm them. Don't worry, we will train you how to do this.

You will be in charge of order entry. Any data entered goes to several different vendors so accuracy is a must. All customer's instructions must be entered into our Trucking Management System (TMS).

Problem Resolution. Team members must be hands-on in solving issues that arise during the day.

Other duties as assigned by the operations director.

High School Diploma/GED required.

General geographical knowledge of the United States.

General computer skills with knowledge of Office, Email, and VOIP.

Excellent communication / English skills (speaking and writing).

Be able to work independently.

Be able to multi task.

Be able to prepare and send correct paperwork.

Prefer former dispatch experience preferably in the transportation industry.

Associates in business or higher degree preferred.

Stress-tolerant nature necessary to consistently, calmly and effectively responding to demanding, crisis and emergent situations while maintaining self-control and composure.

Excellent phone and customer service skills, organizational skills.

2 years of experience in Management.
